Reading Homework
From M-Th, all students will be responsible for reading for 20-30 minutes per night. Every FRIDAY, your child will come home with a reading log in their blue folder. Please help them fill it out each week. First, your child must read their assigned book/chapter from their book bag. These books are specific to your child's reading level. For the remainder of their reading time, they may read any book they choose! Please help your child submit their reading log on FRIDAYS.
Spelling Homework
Your child will also be responsible for completing 1-3 spelling word activities each week. Every FRIDAY, your child will receive a weekly overview of spelling and sight words for the week ahead. On the back of the list, you will find a “Spelling Homework Menu." Please have your child complete 1-3 activities from the menu using the spelling words, and upload pictures of them to Seesaw by FRIDAY every week.
Logging On & Submitting Homework:
Seesaw is an amazing program that will allow the DREAMERS to complete and turn in their homework each week. Please help your child establish a homework routine and encourage them to practice submitting their homework to Seesaw. We are working towards responsibility and independence in 2nd grade!

Tap the green Clever app.

Within the Clever app, you will find the purple Seesaw app.

Tap the "Activities" button to view your child's homework for the week. They should have 1 spelling assignment and 1 reading assignment for the week.

Complete 1-3 spelling word activities from the "Spelling Homework Menu" on the back of your child's weekly overview. These overviews will be sent home in your child's blue folder on Fridays.

When your child's work is complete, tap the green "Add Response" button for the spelling assignment. Snap pictures of your child's work and upload them from the iPad. Then, tap the green check to submit it on Friday each week.

Your child will also be coming home with a reading log on Fridays. Please help them fill it out each week.

Just like before, tap the "Activities" button and upload it to the reading assignment on Fridays.
